For this project I had to produce a three-dimensional “fantasy” letter. Using the first letter from my name written in capital letters. The size of the letter should be at least 1m 50 cm. I decided to build mine in cardboard. The visual look of the capital is inspired from a combination of Bauhaus and the aesthetics from my childhood’s public pool. The idea with the project was to understand how things become different once you play with the scale and size of a letter and what happens when you stage an object. To me it was a great way to experiment with putting personality into a flat object. The end result is an abstract physical “A” staged in the public pool of suburban Denmark. The pool is not a strange place for typography Abstract typography project
